" DISCO is Bloomberg's in terminal interactive data analysis platform. The DISCO mission is to provide seamless integration of rich visualizations into the thousands of existing applications that make up the Bloomberg ecosystem. Our clients leverage DISCO to analyze their raw datasets refreshed in real-time and in a matter of a few clicks turn them into meaningful insights and actionable intelligence. DISCO also provides prescriptive/model based alerts and shareable dashboards for management and sales reporting.
DISCO supports tens of thousands of interactions daily over hundreds of datasets. As a full stack team, we tackle challenges involving everything from building re-usable and configurable data ingestion pipelines (via RabbitMQ, Kafka or ETL) to the optimization and fine tuning of the data stores that handle terabytes of data right to aggregating and visualizing it in our shareable and embeddable User Interface. The backbone of this platform leverages a variety of technologies including Apache Solr, Hive/Hadoop as well as Machine Learning for the Anomaly Detection Engine.
We're currently building a brand-new feature set from the ground up to help expand both our footprint as well as capabilities. Some of the modules planned in this set are:
-Advanced data manipulation engine
-Forecasting, clustering & recommendations using ML
-Time series analysis
-NLP/NLG capabilities on a chatbot
-Mobile & voice integration
-Enhanced & animated visuals
-Event driven intelligence
